Gunnypa's is set in in two acres of beautiful park-like garden, well back from Far North Road (State Highway 1).

Here in the Far North, you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this partly-tamed, partly-wild garden in our warm sub-tropical climate - the 'winterless' north of New Zealand.

There is plenty of tea and coffee available, usually with a little home baking to accompany it, in our comfortable lounge.

Wireless internet service is available.

There are two guest bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two single beds.

The rate for two people sharing one bedroom is NZ$120.00 per room per night. Single occupancy rate is NZ$85.00 per room per night.

Until 30 September 2010
The rate for two people sharing one bedroom is NZ$110.00 per room per night. Single occupancy rate is NZ$80.00 per room per night.

A deposit of the cost of one night's stay is required to secure a reservation. This is refundable, less 10% administration charge, provided that you cancel at least one week before the reservation date.

We regret that we are unable to accommodate children under 12 years of age and pets.

Gunnypa's is located on the Twin Coast Discovery Highway touring route and you will find us an ideal base for visiting the best of the Far North - from Doubtless Bay to Cape Reinga.

Travelling here by car by the direct route using State Highway 1, the journey time from Auckland airport is about five and a half hours without stops. Travelling the Twin Coast Discovery Highway - a world-class touring route leaving from, and returning to, Auckland - requires at least two days in each direction to visit the many interesting and beautiful attractions along the way. Passing through the township of Pukenui at Houhora, continue towards Cape Reinga on State Highway 1 and after 11 kilometres you will see the sign for Gunnypa's on the left hand side.

Alternatively, there are one or two daily return flights from Auckland to Kaitaia Airport (about a half hour drive away) which are operated by Air New Zealand Link.

Rental cars are available at Kaitaia Airport are available from Northland Rentals or, if you prefer, we can arrange to pick you up from the airport and provide transport during you stay.
